When I saw the promo for this comic, I about had to rub my eyes and look at it twice. Could it be? My favorite B movie of all time has teamed up with Marvel to do a CROSSOVER with “A” Rated comic book stars? Could my eyes be deceiving me are they playing tricks with the lights?
Nope, because here it is!!

Now onto my review…..
Well, I have never actually read an Army of Darkness comic book, until I saw this unusual piece. I figured “What the hey, this pushed me to get it.”
It first started off with Ashley J. Williams (Yeah, never knew he ever had a middle initial and last name, I was like, “Who the hell is Ashley J. Williams??”). Anyhow, it starts off with Ash falling from the sky, (gee, where did they get that from? lol). He falls in a dumpster, abuses a homeless person, and comes across a good guy and a bad guy, he’s about to take his pick until a DEADITE pesters him.
He actually talks like Ash like in the movies, using words like “Ya Figgar?” (You Figure?). He encounters these Marvel Superheros as if he’s never seen a superhero in his life, refers to them wearing bedding attire. He’s the same ol’ cockey Ash like he usually is, get cocky even with the female superheros (who are disgusted by him, lol) Pisses off the superheros for vandalising an intercom (don’t know why they all needed to go out there, guess it was for effect).
Fast Forward, he spends some time with Spiderman, telling him how he came to this universe (the Marvel Universe), but somehow I got lost, I think a page was missing, but apparently a Marvel Zombie came through the portal with him, and started “Bitin’ On Superheros, the last person left was Spiderman and Colonol American chomps into Spidey, leaving ASH to fend for himself.
Though it seems to be a bit of clash here, who cares….looks like they had to somehow adapt the Superheros to think he’s just a nutjob and no more, but now they’re all busy eating people to notice now.
But since I am a fan of AOD, I’d figured I’d give you a picture of my own collection:
Stay Tuned for my review of “Civil War: Initiative #1″Â Looks like a pretty thick book.Â
